Juniper at Canyon Rim
The Dead Horse Point State Park (Utah) offers spectacular views to canyons cut by the Colorado River. The park is sometimes referred to as a "mini-Grand Canyon". This image was taken during early morning when the light casts shadows and reflections of the canyon walls. I included the juniper as a foreground interest; this small but old tree grows in the cracks of the canyon rim. Its trunk is twisted and gnarled - shaped by the winds and harsh desert-like environment.
