Abstract Reflections

Double exposure of the Depression Breadline sculpture superimposed against a row of trees along the reflecting pool at Lincoln Memorial, Washington DC. The Great Depression in America (1929-39) was a difficult economic period with significant unemployment. Breadlines and soup kitchens were set up to give free bread and soup to the poor. The bare trees during winter add to the somber atmosphere.
