Judenplatz was the center of the Jewish community in Vienna during the Middle Ages. A memorial to the Austrian Holocaust Victims was created in 2000; it is made of reinforced concrete resembling a library with its books turned inside out. A bicycle rental and tour group was passing through while school children met up with their parents on the way home.
