Wittenberg is located about 40 minutes by train from Berlin. The city is associated with Martin Luther who taught at the university, preached at St. Mary's Church and where he started the Protestant Reformation with his pinning of his 95 theses on the door of the Castle Church. The white building on the left is the City Hall; on the right is St. Mary's Church with its twin towers.
