Domestic Helpers Day Off
There is an estimated 200,000 domestic helpers working in Hong Kong; they are typically from the Philippines and Indonesia. Each Sunday they have a day of rest and they gather in city parks, outside public buildings, squares and train stations. I took this image of a group gathering outside the HSBC bank headquarters in Central Hong Kong; they used cardboards for ad-hoc protection during a cold and windy evening with the Christmas decorations and modern architectural elements in the background.
