Katy is located west of Houston. Its flat, prairie land was used for rice growing with its rice silos located beside railroad. Today, Katy has grown considerably into a large suburb for those commuting into Houston. The rice silos are part of Katy's heritage. One of them was converted to house a local micro-brewery.
