Fresh vegetables and fruits stall being set up during early morning at Campo de Fiori ("Field of Flowers'). This delightful square, however, had a dark past as a place for public executions. The philosopher Giordano Bruno was burnt at the stake here in 1600. Today, his statue overlooks the square.
