My wife and I visited the splendid 16th century gardens of Villa d'Este - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located at Tivoli, about 1 hour by bus journey from Rome. We came upon this spiral staircase inside the villa, originally owned by the Cardinal Ippolyte d'Este. Image taken with a manual fisheye lens.
